This is the latest addition to Rays ‘Cars of London’ pastel painting portfolio.
Each of the cars in this portfolio are painted in accurate scale compared to each other. The car may appear to be the star of the show, but look deeper into the painting to see the intricate quality detail Ray has included (in monotone) in the background and foreground.
Last year during London Motor week, Ray was at the Sotherby’s London motoring auction at the sumptuous five-star Peninsula Hotel London, set in the heart of Belgravia. Parked outside in the courtyard was this amazing 1990 Lamboughini Countach 25th Anniversary edition. This one is very special as it was the only one to leave the factory painted Arancio Miura (orange). The buyer requested this so it would match his existing Lamboughini LP400. The factory were initially reluctant to accept the commission as they no longer offered the colour, but eventually agreed and made the perfect match. This is one of the 67 right hand drive versions (out of 667 total).
