This painting was the first one in Rays ‘Cars of London’ pastel painting portfolio. Each of the cars in this portfolio are painted in accurate scale compared to each other.
Ray spotted this Ferrari 812 Superfast parked in Knightsbridge, London in July 2022 and used his reference photo to paint this detailed artwork, simply reflecting the colour shown in the Ferrari and the Royal Mail post box. The minute detail is the background can almost be forgotten when focussing on the pop of colour.
